"E90M3" (e90m3)

I kinda like the backlight Mercedes star. I know it gaudy, for people who buy the cheapest CLA for the sole reason that it says Mercedes, and that I should abhor it, but for some reason I don’t, I kinda like it. I was walking downtown Austin awhile ago and saw an E-Classe roll by with the “Illuminated Star”, as Mercedes calls it, and I was like damn that’s kinda cool.

I think they're horrible but....

Honestly, I kinda like it, too. Sadly, I’ve about as much affection for Mercedes as I do for, I dunno, space weevils, so it’ll never grace a car I own. (Even, y’know, if I did have the money, which I don’t.)

Wolseley did that back in the 50s and 60s.
I always thought that was kind of cool.

What’s wrong with Mercedes?

Apparently the DuPont cars had the option for a light up one, on you know all like 8 they made.

The only thing I see them doing is adding to the repair costs.

Probably why they added it to the car, one more thing to break, one more thing you can pay them to fix. I bet if it burns out, it’s probably like a $500 job

Eh, nothing really. They’re just not my cup of tea, certain specific models - the 300 SL Gullwing, for example - excepted.

Rolls Royce does it better. I think Mercedes illuminated star is way gaudy

I think they call it the nighttime package or something don't they? Regardless, when I spec a Mercedes online I normally add these

It might be part of the night package, not sure, but I’ve seen it called the illuminated star, so it’s possible it’s both

I'll do a little research and report back.

It seems it is just the illuminated star now. I recall there used to be some package it came with.

Bmw should do one with the roundel. Also, make it so it flashes with the headlights so it’s also bright!

And this on the back, so can let the person you just passed know how displeased you are with their driving.

At one point the roundels some BMWs have on the side acted as a blinker. Coolest blinker, ever.

Yeah, I like it but I'd only get it on an E class or higher

I saw it on an E-Class coupe, it looked pretty good, I wouldn't get it on a cheap one either
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

So do I, but like someone else said I couldn’t get it unless I got at least an E-Class/GLE.

I agree with that, the E-Class coupe I saw looked pretty damn good with it
